From the Director....
This is probably my favorite time of the year, it’s finally getting cold out and the holidays are right around the corner! We are looking forward to the upcoming events of this month and letting God know how thankful we are for everything He has provided for us. We have some awesome activities and crafts planned for the children that we think they are going to love! As it is getting colder out, please dress your child appropriately when coming to school. We will be going outside when we can, and we need them in a jacket, pants, and closed toed shoes! We want to keep everyone comfortable and warm! Also, the colder months can, unfortunately, bring sickness. Please try and keep sick kiddos at home and make sure everything is being properly washed and sanitized. We appreciate all your hard work in helping us!
Our pumpkin patch (see pictures below) went great and the kids had so much fun! A special thanks to Ms. Diane Cross, Ms. Clara Ball, and Ms. Mary Hughes for all your help with the pumpkin patch. You helped so much and we are so thankful for you!
In the Preschool right now, we have donations going on to help support Samaritan’s Purse. This is a great organization that collects premade shoeboxes that are filled with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and other fun goodies for children in need. All they ask is that you help support shipping cost of $9. I will have a display set up by the office for all the information you need as well as the boxes to put the items in. We will need to have the boxes by Monday, November 12th!!
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast will be Thursday, November 15th, at 12:00 p.m. We will serve lunch and we want you to come and join your little one (2 guests per child) as we celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings! The Preschool will provide the chicken fingers, gravy, and rolls. We will be sending out reminders to get a headcount of guests closer to the event!
Holy Cross would also like to invite you to attend Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service on Wednesday, November 21st, at 7:00 p.m. As a reminder we follow AISD for school holidays and closings. We will be closed the whole week for the Thanksgiving Holiday per AISD school schedule, November 19th – 23rd. We pray for you and your family to be blessed with travel mercies during this busy time.
Check your child’s folder in November and December for Scholastic book order forms. They have great sales on books that make wonderful Christmas presents and the school gets free books, BONUS!
