From the Director....

I can’t believe it’s already Fall!! We are very excited for hopefully cooler air heading this way! This Fall we have some fun things planned for the kiddos.

Monday, October 1st I will be sending home Vision and Hearing screening consent forms for the 3 and 4-year old's; there is a fee for this service. Testing will take place on Wednesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 11th starting at 10:00 a.m. The 4-year olds are the only ones that are required by the state to have their Vision and Hearing screened. We are required by the state to have a copy of the results on file. If you do not plan on using the service that is provided here, then we need a copy of the results from your child’s pediatrician to place in your child’s file.

October is our benchmark for the holiday season for us at the church. Fall pictures are scheduled for Thursday, October 16th at 10:00 a.m. If your child does not attend that day, you are more than welcome to stop by and get their picture taken. Cherie Marie takes beautiful pictures, you will not be disappointed.

Our Annual Pumpkin Patch will be Thursday, October 25th and Friday, October 26th starting at 10:00 a.m., and on October 31st we will be having our Fall Classroom Parties. Fall party signs up lists will be posted outside each classroom the week before the party. Please check to see what is needed for the party and signup.  I want to remind all parents that any food that is brought must be store bought food. If your child has a food allergy you may bring food just for your child. And don’t forget that you can wear your Jammies that day. I know the teachers won’t forget, they look forward to it each time we do it! :) Last but definitely not least, mark your calendar for our annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook-Off, Saturday, October 27th from 4:00 p.m.– 6:00 p.m. If you would like to volunteer to help out or enter Chili in the Cook-Off (cost is $10 to enter and must be turned in by Monday, October 22nd), I will have to sign up sheets closer to the date. Checks for the Chili Cook-Off should be made out to Holy Cross.

A great big THANK YOU goes out to Mary Hughes, Diane Cross, Bev Foreman, Clara Ball and Annette Smith for making Griddle Cakes with Grandparents such a great success. You all rock!

I would also like to add that I have a new assistant! Her name is Kayla Thiede, she has worked with children for many years and is currently the Children’s Ministry Pastor at Bethel Church in Ft. Worth. We are very excited to have her at Holy Cross Preschool! Feel free to stop by and welcome her here
