From the Director....
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is here! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming your little ones into the school for the first time, and now it is already time to celebrate our Savior’s birth! I pray that in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, you may find special time with your family to enjoy and celebrate the holiness of the season. A time of joy, peace, love, and happiness. It is our Heavenly Father’s birthday.
We had an amazing Thanksgiving Feast and it was such a joy to see everyone come together! I want to thank Mary Hughes, Clara Ball, Diane Cross, Connie Strand, and Beverly Ladusky that helped with set up, serving, and break down of the Thanksgiving Feast. I also want to thank Gilbert Smith for coming to talk with the children about the Native American culture. The kids had so much fun!
Mark your calendar for the upcoming events:
We are having a fundraiser with doTERRA essential oils to help raise money for the preschool. One of our very own teachers Devin Godfrey is a wellness advocate for doTERRA and has been using these oils & products for many years. We will be passing out order forms and product list in the children’s folders and backpacks as well as leaving them out on the table by the office. We have everything from the oils themselves to, lotions, lip balms, spa kits, and their amazing cleaner! These are great for gifts for the holidays. The deadline to have orders in by is December 13th at 10:00 a.m. This guarantees the orders will be here by December 19th before we leave for break.
Classroom Christmas Parties take place during snack time on Wednesday, December 19th. Sign up at your child’s classroom door to bring items for the party. Each class will also have a book exchange! The kids enjoy this every year!
Directions for Book Exchange:
Select a book suitable for a boy or girl. ($5 limit). Wrap the book and write “To a Friend” on the package. Teachers will then determine how they will exchange books during their class parties.
Saturday, December 8th our first Family Service Event for this School Year and Birthday Party for Jesus. Children 3 years to 5th grade will meet at 9:00 a.m. here at the school and make ornaments for the residents of Atria Senior Living and then at 9:45 a.m. we will head over there to sing and pass out the ornaments. Our puppets will be joining us, and they will perform not only for the residents but also for the children. A win-win!
We are closed from Thursday, December 20th through Monday, January 7th, for Christmas break. We will return on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.
This year we will be handing out Blessing Bags to the homeless in Fort Worth. The items we are hoping to distribute are hygiene items, wet wipes, socks, mittens, hats, small blankets, hand sanitizer, first aid items, feminine care products, Q-tips, Tylenol, sunscreen, Chapstick, snacks, and deodorant. There will be a box outside of the office to drop off items. We will be passing out the bags on December 20th.
A few reminders:
With cooler weather upon us please ensure your child is dressed for the weather each day. We go outdoors every day that the weather allows. Please make sure that you label your child’s jacket with First and Last name. It is hard for teachers to keep track of everyone's jacket.
Serving Him and His Children,
