From the Director....
Welcome, back friends! I hope you had a great summer break. I enjoyed seeing so many of you at the Back to School Bash, I hope you had a great time!
I am extremely excited about our new school year as we launch our new program, 5 days a week with our extended hours of 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.! We will continue to follow the AISD holiday schedule. The teachers are back and they are ready to teach your little ones, help them accomplish milestones, and share God’s Word and love with them daily. One change with our extended hours, we will be having morning and afternoon teachers.
Our fall session starts Tuesday, September 5th. We will continue to participate in Texas School Readiness Grant in our 3 and 4-year-old classrooms. Our mornings will look a little different than it did last year; we are asking that the children be here by 8:30 a.m. in the morning. We will start off with our morning meeting, transition into morning snack at 9:00 a.m., Joyful Noise at 9:15 a.m. then followed up with academics in classroom. Chapel will be on Wednesday this year.
We will continue again this year with focusing on one memory verse a month. We will go over this memory verse in Joyful Noise, Chapel, and in the classroom during Jesus Time. They will have several opportunities to hear and recite the memory verse. For the month of September the memory verse is Romans 12:10 “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
We will continue with our joint service project of Feeding the 5000 with the church and two service projects at a Brookdale Senior Living around Christmas and Valentine’s Day.
We will also do two large fundraisers this year! One will be in the Fall and the other one will be our Spring Garage Sale the first Saturday in April. These fundraisers will go towards our goal of a new large playground. We will continue to save these funds so we can upgrade the large playground play equipment. The preschool also collects Campbell soup labels to receive free products. Please turn your labels into the office so we can utilize this free resource. Last, but not least, we will also send out Scholastic book forms to order books for your child. When you order books the preschool earns points and in turn are able to order free books. So, this is a win-win situation, your child gets new books and the preschool gets new books for their library!
On Friday, September 15th we want to celebrate the special people in our lives and tell them thanks. So, our annual Griddle Cakes with Grandparents (Stand in Grandparents are more than welcome!) will happen again. We will serve pancakes starting at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. If you have any questions feel free to contact Kelly Moore at 817-451-7561 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to seeing all your shining little faces and getting to know each one of you.
Serving Him and His Children,
Kelly Moore, Preschool Director
