From the Director....

This is probably my favorite time of the year, I have the best memories of baking cookies and pies with my Nana. She would let me loose in the kitchen and let me bake my little heart away, all the while I was learning new skills. Did you know that when you cook together with your child/ren you are helping to build their pre-literacy skills, vocabulary, math skills, and science skills? There is so much to learn from sitting on that counter or standing on the stool next to mom and dad or, always my favorite, next to Nana and helping in the kitchen. So, take a few extra minutes and let your child cook or bake with you. Make memories and help them learn in a fun way.

You have a personal invitation to join us on Thursday, November 16th, at 12:00 p.m., for our annual Thanksgiving Feast. As we get closer to this event more details will be sent out. We will serve lunch and we want you to come and join your little Indian or your little Pilgrim as we celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings! In the next couple of weeks, I will be posting signup sheets to help with food, set up, and clean up. The Preschool will provide the chicken fingers, gravy, and rolls. We will also be sending out RSVP’s so we can have a count of how many people will be here that day.

Speaking of being grateful and thankful I want to Thank Ms. Diane Cross, Ms. Bev Foreman and Ms. Mary Hughes for all your help with the pumpkin patch. The children just love you! A Big thanks to Pastor Lowrey for being our farmer!!

Holy Cross would also like to invite you to attend Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 7:00 p.m.  As a reminder we follow AISD for school holidays and closings. We will be closed the whole week of Thanksgiving per AISD school schedule, November 20th – 24th. We pray for you and your family to be blessed with travel mercies during this busy time.

Heads up to all Pre-k parents and three-year old’s that our preschool led Advent Service will be on Wednesday, December 13th, at 7:00 p.m. The Pre-K and three-year old’s will be leading the Advent Service.
