Change is happening at Holy Cross, and I’m excited to share that our sanctuary remodel project is moving forward with some additional momentum. As I mentioned in a previous newsletter, we've officially transitioned into a new phase of the project, as we see our preliminary vision begin to take shape.

Before diving into the next steps with you, I wanted once again to thank the Holy Cross Remodel Committee. They spent countless hours designing a beautiful plan, talking through complex ideas, and getting everything down on paper. They've done a phenomenal job coming up with a vision that truly works for our unique worship space, and we're grateful for the countless hours of hard work they poured into the first stage of our remodel.

Now that the foundational planning phase is finished, the Holy Cross Construction Team has stepped in to see the remodel to completion. As I mentioned in my previous newsletter, this smaller group is designed to be highly efficient as we begin working directly with outside design teams and contractors. Their primary goal isn't to redo any of the work the Remodel Committee already finalized, but instead, they're focused on seeing that vision carried out smoothly and efficiently.

As we interview potential design teams and hear their proposals, we’ll find that they may use their experience and expertise to bring additional ideas and suggestions to the table to make our space even better. Our Construction Team will be there to collaborate closely with them, making decisions in real time to help optimize the remodel as it develops and is finalized.

The Construction Team received the drafted Request for Proposal (RFP) from the Remodel Committee after Easter and met last month to finalize the details of the RFP. We've officially sent the finalized RFP out to several top design firms to begin the process of asking for their competitive bids.

The Construction Team will be hosting our first walkthroughs with these design firms this month. This is an important next step because it allows the contractors to see our Sanctuary in person, experience the space, and hear our vision for the project so they can provide an accurate and proper bid.

Once all the bids are received, the Construction Team and Board of Directors will carefully review them together to select the best design firm, bid and plan. From there, the selected contractor will develop a complete, highly detailed design scheme the remodel.

Finally, the Board of Directors will bring that proposed design scheme and budget for the work to be done, directly to the congregation for approval. We're aiming to have everything ready for a congregational vote by the Annual Voters Assembly Meeting this December.

We're incredibly excited about the future of our worship home, and we appreciate your continued prayers, patience, and support as we take these steps together. Please keep our teams and leadership in your prayers and stay tuned for more updates as our sanctuary transformation continues to unfold.
